Overview

Transport Canada Operation Compliance

As with any aviation pilot related certification, Ground School is where you start and the MECH 1109 UAV Pilot Ground School course provides you with the aviation theory and knowledge required by Transport Canada (Ref. TP 15263) for pilots of small UAV systems (25kg or less) operating within Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) for commercial use. This course covers the eight areas of required aviation knowledge: Aircraft Structures, Theory of Flight, Radio Communications, Airmanship, Air Law and Human Factors, Meteorology, Air Navigation, Aero Engines. The course was designed from the start to exceed Transport Canada's current UAV Operator certification requirements for Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) operations and meet the more stringent requirements being developed for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.
