    Program Description

    This French Translation in the Workplace program will prepare students with a broad knowledge of English to French translation. By learning from trained professionals, graduates of this program are prepared to assume translating services immediately with confidence. It is recommended that students working towards this program have an advanced level of French knowledge, especially in written French.

     In this online environment, the student is able to decide his or her own schedule with the exceptions of assignment deadlines. It is especially accommodating to full-time workers, people with time or distance restrictions.

    In this course you will learn necessary translation skills for professional purposes in the workplace. English to French translation is a skill, which must be acquired through training. You will be given an opportunity to use and commit to memory, the translation skills needed to construct grammatically correct sentences, thus ensuring a high level of accuracy and appropriate syntax. this course is intended for individuals of native fluency or near-native fluency in both French and English whose goal is to do written translation (memos, reports, document, e-mails, mission statements, etc) from English to French. This course is offered through OntarioLearn by the host college, Durham College.
    Translation in the Workplace 2COMM-3064 3 Yes Yes
    This course is a continuation of Level 1 and students will learn additional translation skills that will enable them to avoid the many pitfalls of translating documents from English to French in the workplace. Students will receive feedback on their translation of business documents within the workplace. This course is offered through OntarioLearn by the host college, Durham college.
    Translation in the Workplace 3COMM-5019 3 Yes Yes
    This course is a continuation of Level 2 and students will learn additional translation skills that will enable them to avoid the many pitfalls of translating documents from English to French in the workplace. Students will receive feedback on their translation of business documents within the workplace. This course is offered through OntarioLearn by the host college, Durham college.

    This course is a continuation of level 3 and students will learn additional translation skills that will enable them to avoid the many pitfalls of translating documents from English to French in the workplace.     This course is a continuation of Level 4 and the final course. Students will learn additional translation skills that will enable them to avoid the many pitfalls of translating documents from English to French in the workplace.     Program Residency
    Students Must Complete a Minimum of 4 credits in this
    program at Fanshawe College to meet the Program Residency
    requirement and graduate from this program
