Program Description

Home Care is not a new field of work, but it is becoming a booming field of work. As our population ages, you are often finding seniors are wanting to stay in their own homes, where they are most comfortable. But with an aging population comes declining health and with that the need for resources to ensure the health and safety of our family members.

The Home Care Management Support program provides you with the tools and skills to support and manage facets of the home care industry. This program includes Canadian law, billing, government funding opportunities, scheduling, quality assurance and client relations.

The growing field of home care involves high levels of accurately scheduling activities. This course will cover both scheduling and quality assurance. Going out into the public and into private homes invites a different set of challenges than going into a public facility. Knowing and understanding how to navigate special and challenging situations requires a certain level of empathy.

Dealing with the public in both a professional and healthcare aspect requires individuals who understand the growing field of home care provides patients who are not able to completely care for themselves the ability to stay where they are comfortable, in their own home. This course demonstrates the need for professionals to have the ability to adapt to challenging and difficult situations with comfort, ease and empathy.
