Program Description

Are you new to the Microsoft Office world or perhaps you're looking for a refresher after being away for a while. The Microsoft Office Essentials program teaches you exactly that...the essentials.

This program covers Microsoft Outlook, Publisher, Powerpoint, Excel and Word. Keyboarding skills and typing accuracy will also be taught.

After completion of this program you will have the skills and knowledge to tackle business challenges in today's digital, online and connected world.

Students will learn how to communicate with each other, manage their time and work more efficiently using Microsoft Office Outlook 2016. Proper email etiquette for sending and receiving electronic mail, organizational methods for storing mail, mailboxes, address books, contact lists, tasks and journals are among the topics covered.
Microsoft Office EssentialsCOMP-1378 3 Yes Yes
You will acquire skills using a variety of operations found in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and develop keyboarding skills (min. 35 wpm), through hands-on experience and assignments. Note: This is a compulsory course in the Health Care Office Assistant Program.
Presentations & Desktop PublishingCOMP-1154 3 Yes Yes
Start, navigate and generally understand concepts essential to the use of Publisher. By working with objects, frames, and text in a publication, students will perform a mail merge, create drawings, and WordArt objects. They will be able to create stationery, design master pages, and use layout and page techniques to enhance Publisher publications. The ability to create electronic presentations as well as various types of print materials such as business cards, letterhead, brochures, flyers and newsletters is necessary in business today. Students should be using Microsoft Publisher and Powerpoint 2013 exclusively.
