MGMT-6005 Project Risk Management 3 This course is an introduction to Risk Management methodologies applicable in the context of project or program management. It establishes the need for examining risks and opportunities in projects and describes a variety of approaches and proven tools and techniques which can lead to significant reduction of project risks as well as to improved project performance. MGMT-3021 Ethical Issues in Business 3 Organizations which are supportive of a positive ethical culture enjoy critical competitive advantages, such as a good reputation and the respect and support of their clients, employees and other stakeholders. This course is designed to assist employees in developing and understanding a framework with which to make ethical decisions. Cases will be drawn from real business situations. Research papers and case studies will be used to formulate the discussion topics. COMM-6002 Organizational Business Communication 3 This course provides an overview of important communication concepts and skills required in business. Topics covered include: writing clear reports and documentation, making effective presentations, and fostering interpersonal skills. NOTE: Final exam must be completed in class. MGMT-1017 Human Resources Management 3 This course will introduce students to the role of the human resources professional in the field of human resources management. Topics such as job analysis, training and development, recruitment and selection, health and safety, planning, performance management, employment legislation and career development, with additional functional areas of human resources will be presented. This course is HRPA approved and is required to write the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam 1 (CKE1) and/or the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam 2 (CKE2). COMP-1411 Project Management Scheduling Software 3 This is a hands-on course to teach the project scheduling software MS Project from introduction to the advanced level. Students will follow the text and complete each lesson as homework as directed by the Instructor. Classroom time will be used to challenge the understanding of the lesson material on complete 'what if' scenarios. This course is offered through OntarioLearn by the host college, Algonquin college.
