Gain skills and work experience in the local hospitality industry

This program is geared towards unemployed or underemployed* individuals in the Norfolk, Haldimand, Brant/Brantford and Hamilton regions and is completely free to qualifying participants

By providing hospitality-specific training for roles in retirement and long-term care facilities, the program will generate local employment opportunities and contribute to filling current employment gaps in the industry.

*Underemployment can apply to individuals working limited hours or in a position that does not align with their skill set, education, or experience level.

 

Features of this FREE training program

12 weeks of industry skills and technical training

Two-week paid job placement at a retirement or long-term care centre

Earn industry certifications (ex. Food Handler’s, SmartServe, WHMIS, First Aid and more)

One-on-one coaching support to help you move from training into employment

Participant financial supports

 

Program available to individuals who are:

  • 18+ years old and not in school
  • Unemployed, or working less than 20 hours per week
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Interested in a career in hospitality
  • Interested in a career in Norfolk, Haldimand, Brant/Brantford or Hamilton region
  • Must be a resident of Norfolk, Haldimand, Brant/Brantford or Hamilton region
