What services are available to students?
The medical clinic is a full service Doctor’s Office with the abilities to send lab samples or referrals out into the community. In addition if you need physiotherapy, students can access those services right within the Medical Clinic with a booked appointment.
Is my medical information held confidentially?
Yes, your medical information is confidential and will not be shared without your permission. Records can be shared with your family doctor only upon your verbal and written consent.
Can I get help with medical services preparing for my field placement including Pre-Placement forms completion?
The staff at the medical clinic can perform or initiate many of the things you need to do for your placement. This would entail having both Step 1 and 2 of TB Tests completed, blood drawn for testing your immunity and providing any follow-up immunity injections that may be required thereafter and your immunization record updated. A reminder to students regarding preparing for placement, do it early, don’t leave it to the last minute, this may cause you to lose the opportunity to go on your placement.
