Are you aged 23 or greater and entering your first semester of studies in September 2020? Please review the following information and if desired, register for your choice of Returning to Learning offerings

Excitement and nervousness are common emotions experienced when facing new challenges. You have decided to embark on a new chapter in your life and we, at Fanshawe College, want to make that transition as smooth as possible.

Designed specifically for mature learners, we invite you to join us for a FREE online session(s) entitled Returning to Learning. The sessions will take place using a secure platform called WebEx. You will not be required to download software, rather you will be provided with a private room URL from which you can join us from your browser. WebEx provides full audio and visual options.

Effective Learning Strategies:

Topics to be explored during this session are:

  • Study Strategies;
  • Library Research;
  • English/Writing;
  • Math.

Remote Learning Considerations:

Topics to be explored during this session are:

  • Peer-Tutoring;
  • Mature Learner Panel;
  • Transition to College;
  • Remote Learning.

Schedule

Effective Learning Strategies and Remote Learning Considerations will be offered twice. Feel free to select the date(s) and time frame(s) that best meet your needs. If you wish to participate in all of the topics available, be sure to register for two sessions. For example: If you register for September 1 and 2, you will access all of the topics, and the same holds true if you register for September 8 and 9. Alternatively, you can mix and match the sessions as desired.

Tuesday September 1, 2020 (1 to 4 p.m.)

OR

Tuesday September 8, 2020 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.).

Remote Learning Considerations:

Wednesday September 2, 2020 (1 to 4 p.m.)

OR

Wednesday September 9, 2020 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

Please note that Returning to Learning will profile services/resources and will not include program-specific content. Additionally, Returning to Learning is hosted by Student Academic Success Services and thus will not include program faculty.
