Rather fail with honor than succeed by fraud.

~ Sophocles

Academic integrity is the moral code of academia and is essential to the reputation of Fanshawe College credentials and its graduates. To maintain academic integrity, you must hold yourself and others accountable for consistently performing all academic work in an honest, truthful and ethical manner. Both faculty and students have responsibilities related to academic integrity, and students have the right to appeal any decision related to an academic offense. These rights and responsibilities are outlined in two College policies (links below). Fanshawe has developed training and resources to assist students and faculty in meeting academic integrity expectations (listed below). As a new faculty member, your first step is to educate yourself about academic integrity at Fanshawe College so that you can promote academic integrity in your course. As a faculty member who suspects that academic integrity may have been compromised, your first step is to contact the Program Coordinator and School Chair before initiating an investigation.
