WRIT Testing

Here at Fanshawe, we feel that writing skills are extremely important for success at school, at work, and in life. That's why we require a writing assessment for many programs.

Does your program require a WRIT assessment?

Visit our Registration Requirements web page. If your program name has a link below it called, Mandatory Placement Assessment for WRIT Courses, you will need to do a WRIT assessment.

Many assessment sessions are available throughout the year.  For complete information about assessment dates and times, please follow these instructions:

  • Check under "registration requirements" (by following the link above), and find the entry for your programs.  For example, if you are in "Architectural Technology," click on "A" in the table at the top.
  • Click on the link entitled "More information."
  • You will fill find another link entitled "Mandatory Placement Assessment for WRIT Course."

Note: if you plan to begin your studies in the winter, additional assessment opportunities will be available later in the fall.
