You'll learn about personal financial management, tax and retirement planning, insurance, investment and estate planning. And you'll also learn the importance of people skills - critical for working with clients, evaluating their needs and offering financial advice.
Plus, you'll compete in trade marketing and stock market competitions with other students, to experience what the world of finance and investing is all about. Career opportunities include insurance and investment advisor, wealth manager, financial planner, retirement planner, and more.
You may also go on to acquire industry designations and/or licenses (upon successfully writing external institute exams):
Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP™) - the most widely accepted designation for financial planners in the world, recognized in 22 countries.
Life Licensing Qualification Program - successful completion of this course qualifies you to write the provincial Health and Life insurance licensing exam.
Canadian Securities Course® (CSC®) and The Conduct and Practices Handbook Course® (CPH®) - Successful completion of these two courses qualifies your employer to apply for a securities license in Ontario.
