For Lily Sinke, a Kinlin student in the Sport and Event Marketing (SMM1) program, this summer's hosted placement has provided an opportunity to turn classroom learning into real-world experience.

Completing her placement with Mile High Courts Volleyball Facility in Tillsonburg, Lily has taken on a variety of marketing, promotional, and event management responsibilities.

One recent highlight was helping to organize and operate Mile High Courts' first vendor booth at Tillsonburg TurtleFest. From coordinating the booth setup to spending more than nine hours engaging with community members, the experience gave Lily the opportunity to apply her marketing knowledge while representing the organization.

"TurtleFest was an amazing opportunity, and I had so much fun talking to so many people. It definitely put my marketing knowledge to the test."

Beyond community outreach, Lily has also been leading the marketing, promotion, and management of Mile High Courts' elementary school summer camp program. Her work has included promoting registrations, coordinating camp activities, and introducing fun engagement ideas such as Pizza Friday for campers. Following a successful first camp, she is now helping plan the next session.
