Kate Gielen Academic Graduating Award

Through your support of student awards at Fanshawe, you are opening the door to academic and creative pursuits that might otherwise remain closed. Students can realize their full potential and build on their passions while discovering new ones.

When Kristen received the Kate Gielen Academic Graduating Award for students in Fanshawe’s Interior Design program, she felt it was a tremendous compliment to be recognized in this way. As she embarked on a career in interior design, she shared her gratitude for the opportunity to design spaces that would bring positivity to people’s lives.

Bill Watson Recreation and Leisure Services Graduate Award

Students come to Fanshawe College from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and with different ideas of the career they want to pursue. For many students, finding a field they are passionate about can be a life-changing experience, and the recognition that comes with receiving a student award helps build their drive and confidence to succeed.

After completing her undergraduate degree, Sarah decided to study recreation and leisure at Fanshawe. She describes a feeling of joy at discovering her calling and wants to use her education to bring joy to others. Receiving the Bill Watson Memorial Graduate Award was an honour for her and she believes it will help her flourish in her life’s journey.
