Two students from the Norton Wolf School of Aviation and Aerospace Technology, Mohammed Mubeen and Davis Wilder Ramos Velasquez, are among 12 post-secondary students worldwide to be recognized by the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) Foundation with an IADA Business Aviation Scholarship.

More than 155 applicants from over 30 verified educational institutions were vying for a scholarship, awarded to full-time students pursuing careers in corporate aircraft sales, marketing, finance, legal services, aviation management and technical or mechanical disciplines.

“We are extremely proud of Davis and Mohammed for earning this prestigious international recognition,” said associate dean, Jay Burt. “This achievement reflects their dedication, talent and professionalism, as well as the exceptional guidance and commitment of our faculty.”

Davis, who completed the Aerospace Operations Management program and is now studying Aircraft Structural Repair, said he is proud to represent Fanshawe and the IADA Foundation.

“Receiving the IADA Foundation Scholarship is a profound honor that validates my transition into the Canadian aviation sector. This recognition motivates me to keep pushing boundaries and maintain the highest standards of the aerospace industry,” he said. “After graduation, I look forward to starting my career by focusing on specialized areas such as composites and structural integrity at leading companies in the field.”

Mohammed, a two-time graduate (Practical Elements of Mechanical Engineering, Applied Aerospace Manufacturing) currently enrolled in the Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance program, shared his gratitude for the recognition.

“I sincerely appreciate this scholarship by IADA and the trust invested in my training as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer,” he said. “This opportunity allows me to further develop the skills and discipline required to keep aircraft safe and airworthy. It will help me progress through my training and focus on gaining the hands-on experience essential to ensuring airworthiness and safety.”
