College holiday closure – December 24 (noon) to January 1
Fanshawe College will close at 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
All campuses and sites will be closed and secured for the break and will re-open for normal operations at 6 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Holiday break access by approval only
Access to campus facilities during the holiday break will be limited to employees, students and contractors who are required to conduct College-related business and have the advance consent of their supervisor. Names of employees, students and contractors with permission to access and work on campus should be forwarded to the Security Control Centre (securitycontrolcntr@fanshawec.ca) by Wednesday, December 17. This notice of approved persons to Security must include specific rooms and locations being accessed to ensure cleaning and disinfection protocols are in place.
Employees and students are encouraged to self-register for the Work Alone Program on the Fanshawe Stay Safe App and use its services when working alone on campus, particularly during this break. For more information and to register, please refer to Campus Security Services or call the Security Control Centre at 519-452-4400.
Parking on campus during the break
Complimentary parking will be available throughout the closure, with regular parking rules resuming January 2 at 6 a.m.
Temperature and lighting reduced during the break
As a routine sustainable cost-savings measure, environmental systems (heating, cooling, etc.) will be operating at reduced temperature settings and employees, students and contractors are reminded to dress accordingly.
For students continuing into the winter semester
If action is needed for winter 2026 term registration based on fall academic standing results, 15-week and 16-week students will receive an email communication from the Office of the Registrar on January 2 to provide next steps.
Grades and academic standing will be available to students on WebAdvisor after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
International student support
International students who are looking for arrival support during the College closure are encouraged to contact Fanshawe Cares (fanshawecares@fanshawec.ca). Emails are monitored periodically throughout the closure. Follow any instructions provided by email about how and when to access transportation, if you had requested this service.
