The Stone Soup Story & Philosophy
There once was a traveller who came to a small village, tired and weary from his long journey. Having nothing to eat, he filled a pot with water, placed it over a fire, and dropped in a stone. A curious villager asked what he was doing.
"I'm making stone soup," the traveller replied. "Would you like to join me?"
The villager asked if carrots would improve the soup and soon returned with some from his garden. Another villager contributed potatoes, another added mushrooms, and soon the entire village had contributed ingredients.
In the end, they had created a delicious feast where there had been none before - all starting with just a stone and water.
