Fanshawe College has partnered with Flywire – a payment platform that allows users to make tuition and education payments – to improve the student tuition payment process. As of May 20, 2025, students will be sent to the Flywire payment portal to complete their payment transaction when they log into WebAdvisor and click “Pay on my account.”
What services does Flywire offer?
- Flywire provides students with new convenient ways to pay. In addition to credit card (Visa, MasterCard and AMEX), students can now pay using debit card, EFT and bank transfer.
- Students can log in to their Flywire account at any time to track their payment. They also receive text or email status updates each step of the way, including confirmation when their payment has been delivered to the College. Employees assisting students with payments can also see the status of their payment through a dashboard.
- Flywire has multilingual customer support available 24/7 via live chat, email and phone to answer students’ questions or provide payment process assistance.
- Flywire is a secure platform with robust security measures, which reduces fraud and scams. Flywire ensures the payer is authenticated and the credit card or payment method being used is legitimate before approving the transaction. To ensure security is maintained, the College will no longer accept credit card payments over the phone (except for Continuing Education (CE) course registration and Apprentice programs).
- It is also transparent with transaction fee details. Fanshawe College will no longer absorb the credit card transaction fees. Credit card payments will incur a 2.25 per cent service charge fee. Debit card payments will incur a 1.5 per cent service charge fee. This amount is shown before the payer confirms payment.
The fee goes to the payment processor, not Fanshawe College. EFT/direct debit transfer payments will not have transaction fees.
Students paying outside Canada will continue to follow the instructions and Flywire link on the international payment page.
