(London, Ontario) — Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette has been wildly popular since its February 12 premiere, becoming FX’s most-watched limited series ever on Hulu and Disney+.
The series has sparked renewed interest in the minimalist aesthetic of ’90s fashion and in particular, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s simple and classic style. According to Bloomberg, Selima Optique, the New York-based eyeglass store where Bessette Kennedy once purchased a pair of sunglasses, has seen sales jump by more than 100 per cent since the show’s debut.
Linda Jenken, professor and coordinator of Fanshawe’s Fashion Marketing and Management program, is available to speak to the media about what makes Bessette Kennedy's style appealing and why ’90s fashion is experiencing a resurgence.
“Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s effortless style features timeless pieces and clean lines that consumers are craving right now,” Jenken says. “Her classic simplicity feels both modern and enduring.”
