Policy Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish the guiding principles of responsibility and accountability of the College in its legislative objective to offer a comprehensive program of career-oriented, post-secondary education and training to assist individuals in finding and keeping employment, to meet the needs of employers and the changing work environment and to support the economic and social development of their local and diverse communities.
2. POLICY
2.1. Scope
2.1.1.
The College acts in accordance with legislative mandates outlined in the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Act, 2002, S.O. 2002, c. 8, Sched. F. Additionally, the College acts in compliance with the Minister's Binding Policy Directives, and any other Federal or Provincial legislation that may apply to its operations.
2.2. Principles
2.2.1.
The Board has established through Ends policies indicators and outcomes to monitor and measure the College's Vision and Mission results.
2.2.2.
The College adheres to clear lines of accountability. As the President is accountable to the Fanshawe College Board of Governors (the Board), College staff also have an obligation to abide by all legislative, regulatory, policy and other operational requirements.
2.2.3.
The College defines these obligations in the Board and College policy manuals. These policies form the basis from which leadership and staff accountability flow.
2.2.4.
The College has established financial controls and related reporting mechanisms to ensure proper and ethical use of government funds and regulatory compliance.
2.3. Administration
2.3.1.
The College is committed to maintaining the currency and applicability of this policy.
2.3.2.
Relevant legislative changes and impacts on College operations will be assessed on a continual basis to ensure the comprehensiveness of the principles established by this policy.
