Seven Medals and one Award of Distinction for Team Fanshawe
Students representing Fanshawe’s Faculty of Science, Trades and Technology had their skills on full display winning seven medals, including two gold, three silver, two bronze and one award of distinction, in five transportation and construction-themed competitions at the 2025 Skills Ontario Competition, held May 4 and 5 at the Toronto Congress Centre.
Skills Ontario is Canada's largest skilled trade and technology competition. All participants, including those from Fanshawe, have faculty advisors who invest many hours guiding and preparing them for these skill-testing events.
With their gold medal wins, Emily Suffel (Architectural Technology and Design) and Alex Dorobek (Brick Masonry) are eligible to participate in the Skills Canada National Competition to be held May 29 and 30 in Saskatchewan.
“Fanshawe is once again a provincial leader in the areas of Construction and Motive Power fields. The students we saw perform were some of the best ever. They were good people, excellent ambassadors and future leaders of their sectors. Fanshawe should be so proud.”
Gary Gerard, faculty coach, Architectural Technology and Design.
