Our dedicated Campus Security Services team members are here for you – including Special Constables, contract security guards, and communications dispatchers – to ensure a safe, healthy and comfortable learning environment.

What does Campus Security Services do to keep students safe?

Campus Security Services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide highly visible peace enforcement and prevent crime at all campus locations. We offer a wide range of services to keep students safe, as well as supports to help those affected by violence and crime.

Special Constables

We are the first community college in Canada to have been granted the authority of police officers to enforce laws as they apply to Fanshawe College and, when necessary, to make arrests and lay charges against offenders. Our Special Constables are sworn as Peace Officers under the authority of the Ontario Police Services Act and are easily identified by their distinctive red-and-black uniforms.

Highly visible campus patrol by uniformed, trained student volunteers working with our Campus Security Services team.

Additional services

Other campus safety services include smoking enforcement, the Security Control Centre, investigations and threat assessments, crime alert notices, security consultation and education, parking lot monitoring, annual safety audits, community outreach and more.
