Oxford Street closures and construction impacts
Notice for new and returning Fanshawe students, employees and guests.
As part of the City of London’s ongoing East London Link construction project, access to Fanshawe College’s London Campus (1001 Fanshawe College Blvd.) has changed significantly. Please review the following updates to help plan your travel to and from campus.
Oxford Street access closed
There is currently no access to the campus from Oxford Street. All entrances on the south side of the campus are closed (except for the exclusive bus-only access point).
This means:
- You cannot enter the campus from Oxford Street.
- You cannot exit the campus onto Oxford Street.
Recommended routes
Oxford Street is reduced to one lane between Highbury Ave. and Third St. To avoid delays, we strongly recommend approaching the campus from the north-west or north-east:
- North-west entrance: via Cheapside Street
- North-east entrance: via Fanshawe College Blvd.
New traffic lights on Cheapside Street
Temporary traffic lights have been installed by the City at the north-west end of campus on Cheapside Street. These lights will be operational starting Tuesday, August 26 to help manage increased traffic flow.
Ongoing construction at Oxford St. and Fanshawe College Blvd.
Construction at the intersection of Oxford Street and Fanshawe College Boulevard/Second Street is expected to continue throughout September. Please allow extra time when travelling in this area.
Bus stops changing August 30
Earlier this summer, London Transit Commission (LTC) bus stops at London Campus were relocated due to construction, entering campus from an exclusive access point near Lot 10 and leaving from Community Gate onto Fanshawe College Blvd. Temporary pedestrian crossing signs are in place to support safe access to the new stops.
These temporary bus stops will soon relocate to their new permanent locations!
At the end of this week, all temporary bus stops on Campus Drive and Community Gate will be relocated to the new Fanshawe terminal on London Lane in front of the D building courtyard (Green Zone, between A, D and B buildings). London Transit Commission (LTC) routes 4, 17, 20, 25, 27, 36, 91, 95 and 104 will stop at these new stops starting Saturday, August 30, 2025.
*Note: LTC routes 25 and 27, which currently stop at the Community Gate circle in front of F building (Red Zone), will also move permanently to the new stop at D Courtyard. If you typically travel to these bus stops through E, F, H or Innovation Village you may need to leave extra time to get to the new bus stop.
General info: bus stop changes and detours
LTC will post notices of these bus stop relocations. You can follow LTC for the most current route information:
