On January 21, Fanshawe President Peter Devlin appeared before the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs as part of the 2026 pre-budget consultation process, advocating for the urgent need of stable and reliable funding for Ontario’s colleges.
During his presentation, President Devlin outlined the real-world impacts of continued underfunding, including program closures, reduced access for domestic students and the erosion of workforce capacity that local communities and Ontario’s economy rely on for growth. Without meaningful provincial government investment, these challenges will continue to intensify across the college system.
