Studying in Canada for less than six months:

Students do not need a Canadian Study Permit if they are enrolled in a course or program which has a duration under six months. Incoming exchange students who will only study on exchange for one semester do not need to apply for a Canadian Study Permit to study on exchange in Canada.

Studying in Canada for more than six months:

Students studying in Canada for more than 6 months require a Canadian study permit. Exchange students who are approved to study on exchange at Fanshawe for two semesters must apply for a Canadian study permit prior to their arrival. Entry into Canada for all students:

Students from certain countries may require an entry visa to enter Canada. To find out if you need a visa to enter Canada please see the Government of Canada Immigration and Citizenship website.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA):

If you do not need a visa to enter Canada, you will likely require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before arrival. An eTA is required for visitors entering Canada via air whom do not require a visa. If you are flying into the United States of America and entering Canada via bus or car at the border, you do not need an eTA.
