As warmer weather brings more motorcycles back onto Ontario roads, Michael Harrison, lead instructor in the Motorcycle Training program offered through Fanshawe College’s Corporate Training Solutions, is available to speak with media about the unique safety challenges riders and drivers face during the spring riding season.

Topics for interviews include:

  • Why the first weeks of the riding season can be especially risky for motorcyclists;
  • Common hazards riders encounter in spring, including leftover gravel and road debris;
  • Why drivers often fail to notice motorcycles early in the season;
  • The importance of refreshing riding skills after winter storage;
  • Key safety reminders for both riders and motorists.

“Many riders are excited to get back on the road after winter, but spring riding conditions can present challenges that people may not anticipate,” says Harrison. “Both riders and drivers need time to readjust to sharing the road again.”

Harrison can also provide motorcycle safety tips for returning riders, new riders and drivers sharing the road with motorcycles.

Listen to Harrison's interview with AM980's The Morning Show with Devon Peacock.
