Fanshawe has launched a new inspirational interview series called The Focus, featuring students, staff, alumni and community leaders.
Building on the success of our flagship publication, The Annual, the new series will highlight success stories, life lessons and motivational messages to engage, empower and excite our #FalconAwesome family.
Episode 1: Caroline Cameron
On April 14, 2021, Sportsnet host and Fanshawe alumna Caroline Cameron (Broadcast Journalism 2012) sat down for an interview with Jim Van Horne, program coordinator for the Broadcast Journalism – Television News program. In this interview, Caroline shares some of her memories from Fanshawe, highlights from her career in sports broadcasting and the lessons she has learned along the way. Episode 2: Steve Cordes
CEO of Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), Steve Cordes, sat down with Jim Van Horne, program coordinator for the Broadcast Journalism – Television News program, for the second episode of The Focus.
In this episode, Steve shares stories from youth who have taken part in YOU's programming and the unique partnership between the organization and Fanshawe College. Approximately 25 per cent of YOU's clients identify "completing a college credential" as one of their goals, and the programs between YOU and Fanshawe help make those aspirations a reality.
