Last week, Fanshawe Global hosted an intensive week-long leadership training program titled "Strategic Leadership for Educational Leaders" for a delegation of eight leaders from Peru’s Public Technological Higher Education Institute of the Armed Forces (IESTPFFAA).
The 30-hour course, delivered August 12 to 16 between London Campus, Downtown Campus and the St. Thomas/Elgin Regional Campus, gave IESTPFFAA leaders the opportunity to actively participate in sessions and conversations with Fanshawe experts and educational leaders focused on:
- leadership competency models
- applied research and innovation
- entrepreneurial approaches
- teaching-learning processes
- learning management systems
- leadership governance structure
- student services and
- diversity and inclusion
Another focus for IESTPFFAA’s leadership was to gain first-hand information and guidance on the curricular mapping of three new programs planned for the Lima, Peru-based organization: Systems Analysis, Machinery Maintenance and Hotel Management.
“We hope that the information shared has been useful and can be adapted to the local Peruvian context,” says Rosa Cristina Aguilar, Fanshawe Global’s manager of global strategic initiatives. ”Thank you to all the staff and educational leaders across the College who made this training possible.”
This visit marks an expansion of a partnership that began in 2016. That first agreement saw Fanshawe provide technical assistance in educational management services, in addition to dual credential services, program quality monitoring services, training for leaders and academics, as well as virtual library services.
