Temporary campus access restrictions will affect LTC bus routes
Fanshawe College, in cooperation with the City of London, will temporarily close the bus exit at London Lane as part of the ongoing East London Link rapid transit construction. The closure will begin Wednesday, January 14 at 6 a.m. and continue until approximately end of day Thursday, January 15.
During this period, London Transit (LTC) buses will not be able to enter or exit our internal roadway, London Lane. Construction activity makes it impossible for buses to turn safely, resulting in no bus access to or from Oxford Street. This will affect LTC passengers and temporarily detour buses from the Fanshawe Terminal.
What this means for students and employees:
- Temporary LTC stops will be located at Fanshawe College Blvd and Community Gate for routes unable to service the College (routes 4, 20, 91, 95 and 104). The planned detour will continue along Oxford, turn north onto Fanshawe College Blvd., east onto Cheapside St., south on Farnsborough Cres., east on Fleming Dr. and return to regular routing via Fanshawe College Blvd.
- Routes 25, 27 and 36 will remain on their current detour, with temporary stops in front of Innovation Village (Red Zone).
LTC will post notices of changes. For the latest route and detour information and updates about service changes, visit:

- Follow LTC on X (Twitter): @LTCLdnOnt
- Email: ltc@londontransit.ca
Please be careful travelling to and from the campus.
Pedestrian access will be maintained. For those walking to campus, a temporary pathway is available along the north side of Oxford Street. Please follow posted signage and use designated crossings, which may shift as work progresses.
Driving routes will not change during this time. Oxford Street will remain open to traffic in both directions, with lane restrictions in place. Drivers should continue to follow posted detours and allow extra time when travelling through the area. Navigation apps like Google Maps or Waze can help you plan your route.
Follow all posted signage. The construction area at London Lane and Oxford Street will be clearly marked with appropriate signage such as no entry notices. All signage will be removed once the work is complete.
(*Please note: while the work is not expected to exceed two days, unforeseen conditions may extend the timeline.)
Thank you for your patience!
We appreciate your cooperation as we work with the City of London to improve transit infrastructure near the London Campus.
Learn more about East London Link
Fanshawe and the City of London are working together to make sure the new East London Link rapid transit corridor will provide easy access to campus. Together, we aim to keep things running smoothly, boost LTC bus ridership and reduce any negative effects on the environment and community.
During the construction period affecting Oxford St. and Second St./Fanshawe College Blvd., LTC bus stops on campus and nearby may be re-routed to avoid heavy roadwork and minimize delays. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work with with the City of London during these important transit and infrastructure improvements.
