Fanshawe College is proud to celebrate Dr. Sam Roodi, professor of communications in the School of Arts and Language, whose poem Pilgrimage of Imagination was recently published in the Journal of L. M. Montgomery Studies. The piece is a poetic reflection on Dr. Roodi’s experience presenting at the Centennial Montgomery Conference in Charlottetown, PEI, and explores the enduring power of Anne of Green Gables to transcend cultures, languages and generations.
Dr. Roodi has taught English and literature for more than 30 years, including courses on Anne of Green Gables at universities in Iran before moving to Canada in 2006. His scholarship and passion for Montgomery’s work have been recognized internationally, with previous contributions published in the journal as well as in Anne Around the World (2013).
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Roodi on this achievement and take a moment to read his published poem.
