Workers exposed to airborne contaminants including biological or chemical agents, as well as oxygen deficient environments must be protected from acute and chronic hazardous health effects. When hazards cannot be eliminated or engineered out of the job, personal protective equipment such as respiratory protection can assist to protect workers. 

The use of respiratory protection requires individual fit testing to ensure that each type of disposable mask or respirator fits properly. 
Corporate Training Solution’s Quantitative Respiratory Fit Testing conforms to CAN/CSA-Z94.4-18 – Selection, Use, and Care of Respirators to determine and verify the proper fit at the time of testing.

Corporate Training Solutions will run fit testing clinics at your location.

Fit testing shall be carried out:

  1. Prior to the initial use and after completing the health surveillance evaluation
  2. At least every 2 years. However, it is recommended that fit tests be conducted annually
  3. Whenever there is a change in respirator face piece (e.g., brand, model, or size)
  4. Whenever changes to the user’s physical condition could affect the respirator fit. (Gain or loss of 20lbs.)

Service Includes

  1. 8 tests per hour (use of 2 Porta counts)
  2. Wallet card (record of testing) for each individual tested
  3. All daily tests results (in Excel format) at the end of each test session
  4. Client to provide all test respirators, scheduling of staff to be tested, test rooms and 120 V power for testing equipment
  5. Client should complete medical surveillance, conforming to CSA Z94.4-18, of all staff prior to test dates to expedite the process.
  6. All staff will be clean shaven in exact accordance with CSA Z94.4-1

Note: Staff cannot smoke, eat or drink within 20 minutes of any test to be conducted
