ConnectHER and Fanshawe
Across Canada, women are significantly underrepresented in skilled trades occupations and industries. Fanshawe College, in partnership with Fanshawe Corporate Training Solutions, is proud to be part of the ConnectHER Skilled Trades Community.
Our involvement is project reflects our commitment to fostering diverse and equitable communities where all individuals have the opportunity to thrive and succeed. Through mentorship, training, and skill development, we are creating more opportunities for women to explore careers in the skilled trades and breaking down barriers for a more inclusive workforce.

Industrial Perspectives Survey
Break Barriers. Build Futures.
The ConnectHER team is gathering insights from employers, labour, and industry partners across Canada to help us better understand the realities faced by women in the skilled trades. We want to know what’s working, where barriers remain, and how we can move forward together.
The survey takes 10 minutes to complete and is open to anyone in the trades community – supervisors to apprentices, HR to jobsite crews. All responses are anonymous and confidential.

A coalition of allied partners including Polytechnics, community service organizations and advocacy groups has come together to create a national mentorship community for women in skilled trades. Our goal is to bring together women in the trades through training, networking and promoting diversity and inclusivity. By combining the strengths and resources of all our ConnectHER allies, we aim to equip women with the skills, support, and opportunities necessary to succeed and excel in their chosen trades career.
