STD01: Standards for College Policies

This standard defines the structure and process for creating College policies that effectively address risks through clear documentation of objectives, content, and outcomes.

In keeping with the Ontario Human Rights Code and in response to the legislative and directive requirements of Bill 166, Strengthening Accountability and Student Supports Act, 2024, Fanshawe has amended its P208: Respectful College Community and Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination and A130: Student Code of Conduct policies to include information on how the College proactively combats and addresses incidents of racism and acts of hate, including a detailed outline of how the institution will conduct intake, institutional assessment, complaint review, interim measures, decision and outcome, and appeals. College-wide consultation has been undertaken as part of this process. For more information on the College’s approach to Bill 166 compliance, please contact the Centre for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at EDI@FanshaweC.ca.
