Pathway to Graduate Programs

College vs. University Degree - which is better?

While universities may be the traditional choice to study for an undergraduate degree, colleges increasingly offer an attractive alternative for the same credential ...

Hear from a Business Degree Student

“I took the Honours Bachelor of Commerce - Human Resources degree directly from high school and completed my co-op work term as a Human Resources Assistant. I chose this program because of its practically-driven nature. As a student, the program has provided me with the chance to grow my network and meet like-minded people working in the field. When I graduate, I’ll also be ready to pursue the HRPA Certification.”

Business degree entry points

Fanshawe’s business degree is designed with flexible entry in mind. There are three different ways students can enter a business degree:

1. Start the business degree directly from high school.

This pathway begins in the September following your high school graduation.

2. Start the business degree following the completion of a two-year business diploma.

This pathway is for business diploma students who want to ladder into the third year of the business degree program in the same specialization which starts in May after completing the diploma. Students will graduate with an Ontario College Diploma and Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in just four years.

3. Start the business degree following the completion of a three-year business administration advanced diploma.

This pathway is for business administration advanced diploma students who want to ladder into the final year of the business degree program in the same specialization which starts in May after completing the advanced diploma. Students will graduate with an Ontario College Advanced Diploma and Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in just four years.

Part-time, online advanced diploma completion option available! Fanshawe is also proud to offer a part-time online completion option for business administration advanced diploma graduates. Students will graduate with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree in only two additional years of online study. To review progression maps and courses:

Are you a student from another college?

No problem! The above pathways can still work for you, only you may require a few additional courses. To find out what courses you’ll need for entry into our business degree program, search transfers at ONTransfer.ca.

Business Degree Pathways

One of the unique pathway opportunities Fanshawe is proud to offer its students is the option to study a semester abroad on exchange at one of our partner universities. You will gain international learning experience without extending the length of your program and paying only your Fanshawe tuition. You may even qualify for a study abroad bursary to help with additional expenses.

You can also pathway into a graduate program with a college degree just as you would with a university degree. You still have to meet the minimum requirements of the graduate program that you choose, either a university Master’s degree or a college Graduate Certificate, but your Fanshawe Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree generally meets the requirements of many business graduate pathways.
