Role of the Board of Governors
As representatives of the Community, the Board of Governors of Fanshawe College is to be the primary force leading the institution to achieve appropriate results at appropriate costs, and avoid unacceptable activities, conditions and decisions.
The Board of Governors' mandate is to govern the College by developing and overseeing the implementation of policy, including setting the vision, mission, and direction for the organization through policy development; and ensuring the organization is fulfilling its mission and achieving its goals through the President. The Board recognizes that its role is governance, not management.
