Post-Admission Requirements
The following items are applicable to the program and are time
sensitive:
Immunizations
Proof of immunizations are required to be submitted
prior to first class In accordance with Ambulance Service
Communicable Disease Standard
Students cannot proceed to field or clinical placement
without proof of immunization
Refer to mandatory immunization record
Please contact our Program Assistant and/or Clinical Liaisons
for clarifications
Class 'F' Driver's License
Required by December 31st, prior to term two
Prerequisite for Ambulance Operations course
Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector
Screening
Required prior to first class
Including a check of the Pardoned Sexual Offenders
Database
Must be current within 6 months of the start of
placement
Standard First Aid certificate (or higher level[i.e.,
Emergency Medical Responder])
Required prior to first class
St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross or equivalent
Must be current within 3 years
(CPR) certificate
Required prior to the first class
Must be Basic Life Support (BLS) level
Heart and Stroke Foundation or equivalent
Must be current within 1 year
N95 Mask Fit test
Required prior to the start of field placements in semester
one
Testing dates will be made available over the summer and early
September
Must be fit tested on a mask that is approved for use among
paramedic services
Must be current within 1 year
