Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get my T2202?
T2202s from 2018 and later are available through WebAdvisor for students to view and print. Students will require their username and password to access the information. Forgot your password? Use the password reset tool or contact IT Service Desk (you will need your student number).
Why isn’t there a T2202 available for me if I paid?
No, some courses and fees are not eligible. For example, the student activity fee and bus pass fee, as well as general interest, preparatory and driver's education courses are not eligible. Please refer to the Canada Revenue Agency's P105 Students and Income Tax under the section "Eligible Tuition Fees" for more information about eligibility.
If you still have concerns over the amounts showing on your T2202, please contact the Fees Services department in the Office of the Registrar (note: it may take up to five business days to respond to your email due to a high volume of inquiries).
Why doesn’t my form show the full amount I paid?
Program and course costs are made up of various fees; some are tax deductible and others are not, in accordance to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) policies. The T2202 form will only reflect the eligible fees. For example, the student activity fee and bus pass fee are not eligible fees. Therefore the tax form will be less than the amount you paid. As well, if your courses ran over two calendar years, only the amount relating to 2024 can be reported this year.
Please refer to the Canada Revenue Agency's P105 Students and Income Tax under the section "Eligible Tuition Fees" for more information.
If you still have concerns over the amounts showing on your T2202, please contact the Fees Services department in the Office of the Registrar (note: it may take up to five business days to respond to your email due to a high volume of inquiries).
If I paid last year for a course I’m taking this year, will my T2202 show it?
No. The T2202 form only reflects the actual learning period that you attended during the taxation year.
I don’t have a computer at home/ How can I get my information?
Please email fees@fanshawec.ca.
I printed my T2202 form, but my address has changed. Do I need a new one?
No, you are not required to mail the T2202 with your tax forms. The address on the form does not have to match your current address; however, please ensure you update your Fanshawe College records with your new address. Update your address on WebAdvisor.
Will you send my T2202 to someone else for me?
No, but you can. First, check whether a hard copy is required or just the amounts from the form. If you need a hard copy, the T2202 form available on WebAdvisor is in a printable format so you can provide it to anyone filing taxes or claiming amounts on your behalf.
Will you email or fax me my T2202?
Please email fees@fanshawec.ca to discuss your options.
I need to duplicate T2202 for a previous year. How do I get this?
T2202s for the 2018 tax year and later are available through WebAdvisor for students to view and print. You can still access copies from 2018 onward if you need a duplicate T2202. You will need your username and password to access the information. Forgot your password? Use the password reset tool or contact IT Service Desk (you will need your student number).

If your T2202 was from a tax year before 2018, please contact fees@fanshawec.ca to discuss your options.
What program name will be shown on my T2202?
The T2202 will indicate the name of your most recent program even if it is not the one you took in 2024–25. For example, if you were in two different programs, or applied, paid and withdrew from a program, the last program in which you were active will be the one reported. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is only looking to make sure that you were registered in a post-secondary program. The program name listed does not affect your tax return.
How do I obtain my T2202 if I am not an active Fanshawe student?
If you have been an active student at Fanshawe within the past two years, please access your T2202 via WebAdvisor. You will need your username and password to access the information. Forgot your password? Use the password reset tool or Contact IT Service Desk (you will need your student number).
