UNDERSTAND THE LENGTH OF PART-TIME PROGRAMS
The time required to complete an Ontario College credential program part-time is longer than a full-time program and depends on how many courses and consecutive semesters you choose to enroll in. As a part-time student, you can typically register for one to three courses each semester. However, some programs may only offer one or two courses per term, and not all programs offer courses in the summer. There are three semesters in each year.
If you register for three courses each semester, here’s how long it would take you to complete specific Ontario College credentials:
- Certificates - approximately two years to complete
- Diplomas - approximately three years to complete
- Advanced Diplomas - approximately six years to complete
- Advanced Diploma completion programs - approximately two years to complete
- Degree completion programs - approximately two years to complete
- Graduate Certificates - approximately two years to complete
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Familiarize yourself with the admission requirements of the program(s) you’re interested in applying to. To qualify and receive an offer of admission, you must ensure you meet the criteria before submitting your application. Applying to a part-time program

Students interested in applying for a part-time Ontario Credential program must submit their application through the Ontario College Application Service (OCAS). Since these programs lead to an Ontario College Credential, the application process is the same as full-time programs.
Each applicant is responsible for obtaining and submitting documents for their application. We are unable to access files that belong to other institutions, so if you are missing a document, you will need to order your transcript on OCAS.

Prepare to pay your deposit
Students receive a fee invoice each term outlining their total tuition, fees, and payment due dates. Each term has a non-refundable deposit deadline and a final payment deadline. For part-time students, the deposit must be paid upfront by the due date indicated on the fee invoice. This deposit is then credited and applied to tuition fees when courses are selected.

Course registration
Part-time students enrol on a course-by-course basis. This allows students to determine their course load for each semester.
Each part-time program has a dedicated page with a progression chart outlining the recommended course order for part-time students. Find your program’s progression chart.
Tuition, Fees and Financial Aid

Part-time post-secondary program fees are updated annually and charged on a per course basis each term. Part-time students may take up to three courses per term and course fees are determined by the number of course credit hours plus ancillary fees.
