Apprenticeship
Apprenticeships are employment-based training for people seeking a career in a skilled trade. Apprentices are paid while they work and their wages increase as they progress through their apprenticeship training.

Clinical Placement
Clinical placement provides the student with exposure to their program's field and the role of a graduate in this field. Under the direct supervision of a practitioner in this field, the student will observe and participate in the environment. Students will expand on assessment, communication and self-evaluation skills introduced in the environment. Unpaid.

Co-operative Education
Co-operative education bridges the gap between education and the workplace by integrating academic studies with paid work experience and on-the-job application of theory. These are mostly paid/remunerated.

Internship
Internship education is a learning method, which allows industry proficient students an opportunity to broaden their professional competencies through ongoing mentorship while on the job. Students will work for a defined period of time, collaboratively with an internship coach and employer partner. This opportunity will see the student setting specific developmental goals, identifying opportunities for growth, evaluating workplace issues and experiences as they pertain to their personal leadership development. Internships can be both paid and unpaid.

Field Experience
Field placement provides the student with exposure to their program's field and the role of a graduate in this field. Under the direct supervision of a practitioner in this field, the student will observe and participate in the environment. Students will expand on assessment, communication and self-evaluation skills introduced in the environment. Unpaid.

Simulated Workplace
A classroom that replicates a student's future workplace.

Industry-Sponsored Research
Industry-sponsored research gives clients the opportunity to obtain strategic advice, research and recommendations from student teams in specific programs. In turn, client cases offer real-world experiences that enrich student learning through application. This is typically an unpaid experience

Case Studies
A research strategy of analyzing and interpreting (real life) information about a person, group, situation or thing. Case studies are completed individually or in a group. Unpaid.

Capstone Project
Students, working individually or collaboratively in groups will plan, design, document and deliver projects that integrate key concepts of the program's field to demonstrate the culmination of their knowledge. This work can include literature reviews, secondary research, simulations, case studies and/or product development. Unpaid.

Job Shadowing
A short-term opportunity (typically one day to one week) to observe a person performing their job.

Supports such as space, training, working with other start-ups for students starting their own business. These can be paid or unpaid.
