OSAP Bursary for Students with Disabilities

If you have a permanent disability, you could be eligible for full-time OSAP funding if you're studying at 40% or more of a full course load. To be considered for this benefit, you must self-identify as having a permanent disability when applying for OSAP. You must also submit an application for the OSAP Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) and Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Persons with Permanent Disabilities (CSG-PDSE), available mid to late June. Here's how:

Step 1: Apply for OSAP and be eligible for OSAP funding (submit all required documents).

Step 2: If required, complete the new OSAP Disability Verification Form available under "Required Documents" when you self-identify as a student with a permanent disability and return to the Financial Aid Office (London Campus, room E2020) or upload on your OSAP application.

Step 3: Follow up with the application for the Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) and Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Persons with Permanent Disabilities (CSG-PDSE), available mid to late June.

Step 4: Register as early as possible by completing the Early ID Form with Accessibility Services at Fanshawe (London Campus, room F2010). Early identification ensures consideration for the BSWD and the CSG-PDSE. You could also be eligible for other accommodations and supports offered by Accessibility Services. Fill out the above link or call 519-452-4282 and ask for an appointment with a counsellor.

The Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) and Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Persons with Permanent Disabilities (CSG-PDSE) helps students with financial need meet education-related costs associated with a permanent disability. Funding could be granted for services and equipment such as tutoring, Learning Disability Assessments and specialized equipment, including computer hardware/software.
