| This course will enable the students to gain an understanding of the purpose, construction and operating principles of fasteners, bearings, seals and sealants as applied to the automotive industry. The student will also gain an understanding of the purpose, construction and operating principles of precision measuring tools as well as oxyacetylene, heating and cutting tools. | ||||

| This course will enable the students to: explain the operating characteristics of internal combustion engines, perform engine disassembly/reassembly procedures according to accepted industry standards, explain the construction and operating principles of cylinder block assembly components, perform recommended inspection/testing of cylinder block and components and explain recommended rebuilding procedures, explain the operation of crankshafts and bearings and perform recommended inspection/measuring procedures. | ||||

| This course will enable the students to gain an understanding of the purpose, construction and operating principles of electrical fundamentals, circuits and components as applied to the automotive industry. The student will also gain an understanding of the purpose, construction and operating principles of fuel systems. | ||||

| This course will provide an in-depth study of the design features, operating principles, static and dynamic test procedures of power transmission and driveline systems. The student will also learn to evaluate system problems logically, describe and perform service repair operations. | ||||
| MVMC-1040 | Suspension, Steering & Brakes Systems | 2.5 | ||
| This course will enable the students to gain an understanding of the purpose and principles of operation of a vehicles suspension, steering and braking systems components. As well the student will gain a working knowledge of test equipment and service repair procedures. | ||||

| This course will enable the students to gain an understanding of the purpose, construction and operating principles of heating and air conditioning systems as applied to the automotive industry. The student will also gain knowledge of various government acts as applied to the automotive industry. | ||||
| MVMC-3025 | Engine Systems | 2.5 | ||
| This course will enable the students to gain an understanding of the purpose and principles of operation of an internal combustion engines components, including: Cylinder Block, Crankshaft, Pistons, Camshaft and the Valve Train. As well the student will gain a working knowledge of engine mechanical test equipment and service repair procedures. | ||||

| This course will enable the students to gain an understanding of electrical / electronic circuit diagnosis and applied test equipment as applied to the automotive industry. The student will also gain an understanding of engine management including; ignition systems, gasoline/diesel electronic fuel injection,superchargers/turbochargers and emissions control systems. Principles of operation, diagnosis, and servicing supplemental inflatable restraint systems will also be covered. | ||||
| MVMC-5014 | Drive Train Systems | 2.5 | ||
| This course will enable the students to gain an understanding of the purpose, construction and operating principles of automatic transaxles, four wheel drive transfer cases, front axle assemblies and drivelines as applied to the automotive industry. The student will also gain an understanding of the servicing and repair procedures of automatic transmissions. | ||||

| Program Residency | ||||
| Student Must Complete a Minimum of 11 credits in this program at Fanshawe College to meet the Program Residency requirement and graduate from this program | ||||
