Medical Concepts & Language 1
This course introduces the student to medical terminology, medical language, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical procedures, medical ethics, and current medical concepts to provide a framework of knowledge that will be integrated throughout a variety of Office Administration - Health Services roles. An introduction to medical language, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical procedures will provide a basic understanding and working knowledge of the human body and its integration into medicine. The history and composition of medical language, as well as current medical topics and issues will be explored. The importance of professional ethics, privacy and confidentiality will be highlighted throughout the course.
