Financing Risks

This course offers an introduction to risk financing, focusing on how different options are considered for managing an organization's various risks. Students will learn techniques for estimating losses from hazard risks and will explore the pros and cons of different risk financing methods, including insurance, reinsurance, captive insurance, and contractual risk transfer. The course also covers ways to transfer financial and hazard risks to the capital markets and discusses strategies for allocating hazard risk costs within an organization.
