Beekeeping and Apiary Management - Micro-credential

Course Description: Beekeeping and Apiary Management is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the art and science of beekeeping. Whether you're a beginner looking to start your own apiary or an experienced beekeeper aiming to refine your skills, this microcredential will equip you with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to assist in successfully managing beehives. This micro-credential is a total of 24 class hours. Learning Outcomes: 1. Understand the history, importance of beekeeping and the role of bees in pollination and the ecosystem. 2. Understand the types of beehives, hive components, essential beekeeping tools and protective gear. 3. Demonstrate proper techniques for assembling and setting up beehives. 4. Evaluate the success of a hive management plan by analyzing honey yield, colony growth and disease control.
