About the Institute of Indigenous Learning
The Institute of Indigenous Learning provides academic services, social, cultural, and recreational activities as well as a comfortable atmosphere for our First Nations, Métis, Inuit and non-status students.
The Institute of Indigenous Learning (formerly known as the First Nations Centre) opened its doors in 1996 and has grown steadily since then.
During the first year, there were 72 First Nations students registered with the Centre and that number has continued to grow to over 500.
Due to the increase in the number of students attending the Institute on a regular basis, we have expanded to include a study lounge, more computer space and an extra office area.
