For the month of November, Fanshawe recognizes the Shine the Light on Woman Abuse campaign. Launched in 2010 by the London Abused Women’s Centre (LAWC), this campaign has grown from a local initiative into a global movement. Each November, communities worldwide participate by turning landmarks purple to stand against men’s violence toward women and marginalized genders.
The lights at the entrances of Fanshawe’s London Campus (1001 Fanshawe College Blvd.) have changed to purple until the end of November in support of the Shine the Light campaign.
Wear purple on November 15. Join the national "Wear Purple Day" on November 15 to show solidarity and raise awareness. By participating, you’re helping send a powerful message of empathy and support to survivors, affirming that shame and blame do not belong with them but with the perpetrators.
