Fanshawe’s simulation labs create an immersive, hands‑on environment where you can safely practice real clinical situations before entering placement. These high‑fidelity spaces mirror hospital, community, and long‑term care settings and use lifelike mannequins, simulated/standardized patients, and current equipment to bring scenarios to life.

You will work through interactive simulations that build your confidence in communication, teamwork, and decision‑making while receiving supportive feedback from faculty. This approach helps you connect classroom learning to authentic patient care and prepares you to adapt in a rapidly evolving health‑care environment. Fanshawe’s XR Lab offers the chance to learn using extended reality tools that blend virtual and augmented environments. In this space, you can practice clinical decision‑making, communication, and assessment skills through immersive simulations that reflect real health‑care situations. The lab is part of Fanshawe’s advanced clinical education facilities, which support hands‑on, technology‑enhanced learning in the BScN program. 

These experiences help you build confidence before entering clinical placements. XR learning also strengthens adaptability, an essential skill in today’s rapidly changing health‑care system.
