Doulas play an important role in reproductive and family care, providing emotional, physical and informational support before, during and after childbirth. Fanshawe’s one-year innovative Doula Studies certificate program is the the first college-level program of its kind in Ontario and combines evidence-informed learning with a Reproductive Justice framework. Through hands-on learning, community placements and entrepreneurship training, you’ll develop the skills and confidence to support families throughout their reproductive journey while building a career with purpose.

As trusted, non-regulated professionals, they provide emotional, physical and informational care during major life transitions and experiences. Fanshawe’s two-year Doula Care Across the Lifespan diploma is the first program of its kind to fully integrate reproductive and end-of-life doula practice. Students gain the skills and confidence to support individuals and families through abortion, birth, postpartum, end-of-life and bereavement care while learning through a trauma-informed, client-centred lens. Building on Fanshawe’s established Doula Studies certificate, the program also offers pathway and advanced standing opportunities for graduates ready to deepen their practice and expand their career opportunities.

Ontario’s only two-year Landscape Design Technician Diploma offers hands-on learning in our Design studios and botanical garden campus, with experienced instructors providing industry-ready skills in each course. Design is the primary focus each semester to give you the foundation you need to become a successful landscape designer.

The Developmental Services Worker program is a two-year Ontario college diploma for students interested in having a direct impact on the lives of people with developmental disabilities. You will become a highly skilled practitioner able to deliver person-directed support through courses that promote mental and physical health, develop interpersonal and interprofessional skills and foster independence and positive behaviour supports. New graduates are employed as direct supports professionals or educational assistants.

The Development Services Worker (Accelerated) program takes students to their career in just 12 months. Students will become specialized in working with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Graduates will be able to build relationships with family members, and work well with other support members. Students will find employment as a support worker, advocate or educational assistant.

The Early Childhood Education program combines theory and coursework with real experience in the field. Students will learn the importance of play in children's learning, family involvement, and curriculum design. Graduates will be qualified to work in a variety of jobs including child care centres, early learning and family centres.

The Early Childhood Education (Accelerated) Ontario College Diploma program will get your career started in just one-year. This program will give you the necessary skills and experience to shape and nurture young minds. Students will learn the importance of child playing, family involvement, and curriculum design. Graduates will have a diverse set of skills and be qualified to work a variety of jobs.

The Early Childhood Education (Fast Track) program is an Ontario College Diploma delivered in a face-to-face, traditional classroom environment. The "fast track" allows students with a related diploma, degree or work experience to gain advanced standing into the diploma program, graduating to an ECE career in just 10-months.
