Student Testimonials

"Five weeks ago, I had the privilege to be part of Fanshawe Employment and Student Entrepreneurial Services’ Ready, Set, Work, a micro‑credential program well-suited for graduating students like myself to feel more confident as we navigate the workforce. Our weekly workshops were led by Career Consultants Laurel, Rebecca, and Ricardo, who brought not only their diverse professional backgrounds but also their direct guidance as we prepared to build our careers after graduation.

From identifying our core values, to practicing SAR‑based interview questions, to learning how to manage workplace expectations, I received one‑on‑one support that truly developed our networking abilities and essential skills such as critical thinking and interpersonal communication. Personally, this was my favorite part because these skills are often overlooked, yet they can be game‑changers in today’s fast‑paced and highly competitive work environment.

It may have been short, but it was incredibly meaningful. I am grateful to have been part of a small yet productive and supportive circle. It only proves that even in a world where learning is sometimes overshadowed by rapid advancements in AI tools, there are still people who take pride in teaching, learning, and offering a helping hand.

Special shout-out to Laurel, Rebecca, and Ricardo for their guidance and encouragement throughout the program."

Ma. Dominique Samaniego, Health Care Administration Management

"I recently completed the Rising Leaders micro-credential and honestly, it was one of the better learning experiences I've had. What made it work was actually slowing down and doing the exercises properly, not just rushing through. It pushed me to reflect on my own leadership style and made me more aware of how the people around me lead too. There's real value in that kind of self-awareness, especially in project management. The instructors were thorough and genuinely enthusiastic, which makes a real difference. If you're thinking about it, do it, and actually do the work."

Saima Ateeq, Project Management grad 2026
