It's time to decide: which clocks will you change this year, and which ones will just wait eight months until they are right again?
Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning! Remember to “spring forward” by setting your clock one hour ahead this weekend. That means 2 a.m. will become 3 a.m. (and your Sunday morning sleep gets reduced by one hour as a result).
We recommend you set your manual devices ahead an hour on Saturday, March 9 before going to bed, just to be sure. Digital and wi-fi enabled devices like smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, etc. will automatically adjust at 2 a.m on March 8. Still, it may not hurt to check them when you wake up... better safe than sorry!
Daylight Saving Time (DST) is the eight-month period between March and November when most Canadians adjust their clocks (some provinces have opted not to observe it). Commonly referred to as 'Daylight Savings' (with an 's' at the end, which is incorrect but more popular), DST does not actually add daylight, although shifting the clock forward does provide an extra hour with available light in the evening.
