Experiential Learning & Career Pathways

Hands-On Projects

Our programs emphasize practical, project-based learning, where applied projects simulate workplace scenarios and prepare students for job expectations. Students build and configure real systems in labs, create applications, develop databases or analytics solutions, and solve real-world design and IT problems through case studies and assignments.

Co-op Education

Many IT programs at Fanshawe include co-op work terms, where students gain paid, hands-on industry experience in real companies. These terms are integrated into the program and allow students to apply classroom learning to workplace tasks before graduating.

Credential Pathways

After completing a diploma program, you can take your learning even further! Expand your expertise and stand out in the job market by specializing your skills with a graduate certificate at Fanshawe or at one of our many partner international institutions.

Fanshawe’s School of IT Computer Systems Technology program provided me with the fundamentals of learning different technologies and by the end of the program, turned it into an in-depth level of knowledge. All of this while also being able to get hands-on experience with current technology. When I graduated, I felt 100% prepared to start my career. In fact, about a week after my last exam, I was offered an in-field position!
